The national tourism year 2013 will be held in Haiphong City aiming to introduce destinations, attract both domestic and foreign visitors, and foster tourism linkage among localities across the country.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism revealed that programs of the event will be held in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho and Bac Giang.
National Tourism Year 2013 will have three major events: Announcement Ceremony held in January 2013; Red River Delta 2013 Culture and Tourism week in Hai Phong (held on May 11, 2013 to celebrate the 58th anniversary of Liberation of Hai Phong; Closing Ceremony of National Tourism Year 2013 held at the end of the year.
On this occasion, MOCST launched: the national photography contest theme: Explore the Red River civilization; street exhibition with the theme (new countryside, the anniversary Days of the Hai Phong city) to celebrate National tourism Year 2013; national artwork exhibition; Judo youth Championships; Red River Delta Culinary Festival; making programs and special tourist product developmen; film Week to celebrate National Tourism Year; beach volleyball championship; the 7th International women’s volleyball tournament – VTV Cup; public art festival; Boxing Championship; national good guide contest; etc.
Besides, the event in Hai Phong city will include such activities as the Cat Ba Fishing Village Festival, the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival and the Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival, ect.
The National Tourism Year 2013 aims to raise the quality of major tourist products created by Hai Phong City and localities in the Red River Delta.
The National Tourism Year 2014 will be held in Lam Dong province.
This was affirmed by the General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Nguyen Van Tuan, and the Vice Chairman of the Haiphong City People’s Committee, Le Khac Nam, at a press briefing to introduce to event in Ho Chi Minh City on September 13.
Attending the event were Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions; representatives of the provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Red River Delta and the professional, amateur photographers nationwide.
At the ceremony, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Head of organizing board said the Photo contest and National Photo Exhibition on “Exploring the Red River civilization”aims to introduce to people within the country and abroad the life, culture, people, landscape of the provinces in the Red River Delta, promoting regional tourism in particular and Viet Nam in general.
2013 is an important year for provinces in the Red River Delta region, especially Hai Phong City. The Photo contest and National Photo Exhibition will be significant activities to support National Tourism Year of the Red River Delta â€“ Hai Phong 2013. This event will contribute to boosting the promotion of image of Viet Nam to international tourists.
Themed “The Red River civilization”, the tourism year will provide a good chance for Vietnam to strengthen international cheap viagra integration and attract investment for tourism development as well as promoting local advantages to raise public awareness of the role and position of the tourism sector in socio-economic development.
The Red River Delta region attracted 35 million tourists this year, a 15% rise over last year, and brought in revenues of VND35 trillion, up 16% year-on-year. The above figures were announced at the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2013 program themed “RedRiver Civilization” held in the northern city of Hai Phong on Dec. 14. The organizers said 67 cultural, sports and tourism events and festivals organized in 11 cities and provinces in the RedRiver Delta and northern coastal region this year attracted an estimated 35 million visitors. Hai Phong, which hosted the 2013 program, drew 4.3 million tourists and earned revenues of nearly VND2 trillion this year, an 11 percent rise over last year, said Duong Anh Dien, chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee. Also at the ceremony, the National Tourism Year program’s flag was handed over to leaders of Lam Dong central highlands province, who will host the next year’s program.
The event will help international friends know more about local cultural identities.
A wide range of cultural, art, sport, tourism and trade events will take place during the whole year in Hanoi, Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho and Bac Giang provinces.
