In Vietnam

According to Hanoi Police, if your passport is lost in the country, within 48 hours, you must report to the Immigration Department. In case of direct application, the remaining people’s identity cards must be presented for examination and comparison. If sent by post, the application must be certified by the police of the commune, ward or township where he / she resides or temporarily resides. The fee for re-issuance of lost passport is 400,000 VND.

In other countries

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, when lost or stolen passports which are still valid abroad, in order to prevent fraudsters and protect their personal details, you need to inform the local police and the nearest Vietnamese Diplomatic Mission immediately.
The content of the report must state: Full name, date of birth, permanent or temporary residence, passport number, date of issuance, issuing authority, time and place of occurrence and reasons for the passport loss.
